This utility is used to create partition of disk and format the disk. You can use diskpart utility any version of windows 2000, xp, 7, 8 & 10.

          Diskpart command line utility also helps to resolve some problems like “Please insert a disk in to Removal Disk”.

How to use diskpart? Steps are:-

Step 1.i.a

Click on start button and type diskpart. Right click on diskpart.exe then click on open.

Step 1.i.b

Diskpart will open.

               

Step 1.ii.a

Press window button + R run command will open and type “diskpart” and press ok or hit enter.

Step 1.ii.b

Now click on yes. And diskpart.exe will open as you seen in Step 1.i.b .

Step 2.

Now diskpart command steps start from here. Read and do it carefully.

Type:-

                Diskpart>list disk                                     (press enter)

               

List of disk

                Diskpart>select disk 2                           (press enter)

                Diskpart>clean                                      (press enter)

                Diskpart>create partition primary             (press enter)

                Diskpart>select partition 2                      (press enter)

                Diskpart>active                                      (press enter)

                Diskpart>format fs=ntfs                           (press enter) [wait until format is not 100%.]

                Diskpart>assing                                     (press enter)

                Diskpart>exit                                         (press enter).
